Boss DF-2 Mods | -Improved Classic Circuit
The Boss DF-2 is a fantastic pedal, and it’s very unfortunate that it’s not made anymore. Even worse is that the originals often don’t have enough output to push volume over your clean signal.
My HUM Along pedal solves this - but maybe you enjoy your original pedal, with the Boss aesthetics and the feedbacker section. I offer a few cool mods that make this pedal more personal/useable.
STANDARD MODS (pick and choose from the list):
— Volume increase. A mod that solves the volume problem for any era of the DF-2, while keeping all the sound and classic characteristics.
— 9V conversion. A simple mod to remove the voltage limiting on the power input, so you can use the intended 9 volts instead of the 12 volts most came labelled as.
— Swervedriver Switch. Originally a problem with some DF-2s, a broken capacitor connection on the original PCB makes the Feedbacker sound like an insane siren. This happened in the DF-2 used in the epic band Swervedriver. This mod puts it on a switch to choose between original feedbacking and “broken.”
ADVANCED MODS (pick and choose from the list):
— Feedback hold switch. I add a normal footswitch at the top left of the BOSS footswitch to lock the feedbacker function on when the distortion is engaged. It doesn’t impede the original hold feature either. Video below.
— Distortion removed/bypass switch. This is a mod that lets your clean signal pass through when the pedal is enaged, but the feedback function still works. This can either be on a switch, or a permanent mod.
— Feedback Vibrato Kill. This is a switch that stops the pitch vibrato in the Feedback signal. Makes some funky sounds when combined with the siren mod, video below.
Once you have purchased, email me at leylandpedals@gmail.com with your order number, and include what mods you would like done. If you have any other mods in mind, feel free to ask about them in the email. I will reply with more details about shipping your pedal to me.
If you have any questions, feel free to email before you pay anything.
